~ Your Daily Meds~

Mantra: Breathe.  

Pranayama: Natural breath, diaphragmatic breath, and 3-part breath.

Meditation: 5 minutes seated and/or 5 – 10 minutes Active Relaxation or Passive Relaxation (Body Scan)!!

**Active relaxation consists of engaging a specific area of the body, breathing with it contracted for 1-3 breaths, then exhaling to let it go.  Areas to consider: wrinkle your face like you ate a lemon, lift your shoulders, make a fist, feet your feet etc.  The idea is to connect with the energy of opposition so that we can fine a deeper relaxation.

**Passive relaxation is simply holding an area of your body in awareness, breathing into it for a few moments to minutes and hten moving on.  You can hold your whole body in awareness or break it down into sections like your head, chest, arms, legs, or even be more specific.

 

Blue Sun Yoga Teacher Training Practice Suggestions: 

8 limbs : YAMAS - Review Ahimsa.  Reflect / journal on how you can practice this in postures on and off the mat.

SUTRA – 1:1 and 1:2.  Reflect and journal on these 2 sutras.

ASANA - Tadasana.  Practice!  Practice teach!!
